Specializing in potato production for more than 65 years the Brenn family has a growing reputation for providing outstanding quality potato packs to retail, wholesale and the food service industry. The scope of their crop production has changed significantly over the generations and continues to transform as their demographics and markets evolve.
The Challenge
The team at Provision Coalition Inc. reached out to Sherpa Creative to help Brenn B Farms create packaging for their new product line of potatoes, ones that don’t make the grade for retail and processing.
According to the National Zero Waste Council’s research on household food waste in Canada, almost 2.2 million tonnes of edible food is wasted each year, costing Canadians in excess of $17 billion. In addition to the economic costs, food waste has substantial environmental impacts.
The Solution
Strategic design can play a large role in turning this around.
The focus was to position the packaging around the idea that none of us are perfect, so “B Yourself” and love your imperfections. We designed cheeky and loveable potato characters and matched them with some well-crafted bilingual copy to help make emotional connections to buyers.
